EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and it's often called "tapping" because it involves gently tapping on a series of acupressure points around the face and upper body.
As a starting point, I often refer to EFT as an emotional first aid technique. If we're in the midst of a challenging experience or emotion, EFT is a simple and effective method for acknowledging our emotions and releasing them, allowing energy to flow freely again. EFT also goes far beyond first aid, as it is a powerful but gentle technique for revealing and releasing stuck emotional patterns that have built up over the course of our lives and are often limiting our present day capabilities.
EFT can help reduce "emotional inflammation" especially when used consistently over time to address the upheavals that arise throughout our lives. Over time, it can help build our own psychological resilience in the face of life's challenges.
EFT is an empowering method because anyone can try it on their own without extensive training. It's also very potent when you work on it together with a certified EFT practitioner, who offers the support of a listening ear and helps guide you through the tapping process based on the goals you set.
