What I’ve been pondering, reading, learning lately.
3 Season Diet
Sept 5th 2026: I’m reading Ayurvedic practitioner John Douillard’s book, The 3-Season Diet, and experimenting with what I’ll shorthand “lunchmaxxing”—focusing on a large, luxurious lunch as the primary meal of the day, with a light breakfast and supper to sustain through the rest of the day (he offers three phases to find our way toward this). And aligning each of these meals with [[seasonal eating]]:
- Winter: Rich, warming foods like soups, whole grains, nuts, and healthy fats
- Spring: Cleansing greens, berries, and light, refreshing meals
- Summer: Cooling fruits and high-energy vegetables*1
* Fall is a transitional season between summer and winter, so depending on where we are we might extend summer into part of fall, and move into winter foods midway through fall as we prepare fully for the cold season.
Wise Speech with Oren Jay Sofer
July 14, 2026: I’ve been retaking a donation-based online course on communicating wisely with Oren Jay Sofer that I highly recommend if you’re interested in a deep-dive on connecting with others in a genuine, constructive way, particularly in the context of difficult conversations.
